Wedding
We'd like our wedding to be a celebration of colour, joy, and vibrant energy and kindly ask all our guests to embrace the spirit of the day by dressing in colours.
Please keep in mind that it may be windy, so choose outfits that won’t easily lift or fly away, and secure hairstyles that won't be in your way. Gentlemen, while we understand the heat, shorts or casual attire are not permitted.
Lastly, we kindly ask that you do not wear white, off-white, cream, ivory, pearl, eggshell, beige or any other light nude tones.
After Party
We are still deciding on the location, but please wear white.
What if I can't make all the celebrations?
We would love for you to be at all of the celebrations we have planned, but we completely understand if you are unable to attend each one.
The wedding is in the middle of Stephanie's birthday (24th August) and Paul's birthday (2nd September), so there will be plenty of celebrations during this time.
Where is the best place to stay in Mykonos, and for how long?
Mykonos is a truly special place, we hope you consider spending time here away from the wedding events and enjoy the island. The nature of the island is beach-centric - most restaurants, shops and activities are clustered along the coast.
The south-west of the island, where you're able to experience the best sunsets, are recommended. Platis Gialos is one of the most popular towns on the island as it offers a little bit of everything - whether you want to relax, eat good food, spend your days at the beach, enjoy a cocktail or even a party... you can find everything here and in walking distance. It's also close by to other popular towns and has great transport links. It is a 10 minute drive to the wedding venue.
Ornos is the closest town to the wedding venue (5 minute drive) and is also a great area to relax. The beach has calm, shallow waters and the restaurants are family-friendly. Ornos has a lively but more relaxed feel than the party beaches. It's an 8 minute drive to Mykonos town.
What are the Mykonos 'must do's'?
Mykonos is small - you can drive the length of the island in 1 hour.
We recommend spending a day and evening in Mykonos Town, where you can look for Petros the Pelican (the islands mascot who roams free around the town), shopping, eat good food and enjoy the sunset on the waterfront at Little Venice.
We also recommend exploring the different beaches of Mykonos, such as Platis Gialos, Ornos, Psarrou and even up north at Ftelia beach. If you stay at a beach front hotel, sun-beds are likely to be included in your stay. A bed and umbrella are typically €30 pp.
If you like the party scene, there are plenty of beach clubs on the island. Most of them open from the early afternoon, such as SantAnna, Kalua, Hippie Fish, Super Paradise Beach Club, Alemagou, Lohan Beach House.
What is the weather like?
The end of August in Mykonos typically has hot, sunny weather. Daytime temperatures are around 27°C on average, with cool breezes from the Meltemi winds helping to moderate the heat. The sea temperature is warm, around 24°C.
The island can get quite windy, so we recommend wearing outfits that won’t easily lift and tying your hair up for comfort.
What's the best way to get around the island?
Mykonos is a small island - you can drive from one end to the other in under an hour. However, walking isn’t an option, as the island’s terrain is hilly and rugged, with no pedestrian walkways and narrow, windy roads.
There are great local buses that depart every 30 minutes, from Ornos, Mykonos Town, Super Paradise and Platis Gialos. Depending on where you are going, the journey's are usually under 15 minutes and are affordable at around €3.50 per trip.
Taxi trips of around 10 minutes usually charge €30.
If you are on the island for a week or longer, we recommend hiring a car starting at £19 per day.
